Providing Entrepreneurial skills
Entrepreneurial Skill is a part of the Education, Employability and Livelihoods Enhancement sector of Coca Cola corporate social responsibility. With the implementing partner of Jagriti Seva Sansthan. With this program, the organization has focused on promoting skill development. As the organization objective is to provide valuable skills to youth in tire 2 and tier 3 cities of India. So that the youth becomes a job creator.
As a result, they can provide the program in 25 districts, 7500 – 8000 youth through 30 different activities in various colleges. Especially this program has focused to target the middle class of the country. And currently, it is targeting 58% of the population.
Employee Volunteering Policy (EV Policy) SWAYAM
Employee volunteering policy, part of Coca Cola corporate social responsibility in which the company encourages its employees to volunteer their time, efforts as individual or group or department towards different NGOs, communities involvement offered by CCIPL.
There are three different ways in which employees can choose the to volunteer
- An employee volunteer one day, every calendar quarter, for volunteering initiatives. The initiatives will be chosen from among several company CSR initiatives.
- In the second option, any employee can choose to volunteer for a cause of his/her choice and CCIPL will support this endeavour through the option of days of paid leave in a year.
- And, in last, CCIPL has also promoted donations by employees to charitable organizations.
Parivartan Training Program For Retailers
Under parivartan training Coca Cola has aimed to provide training to the retailer about the better handling of finances, stocks, customers and merchandising etc. Since the training program under coca cola corporate social responsibility aims to improve the livelihood of the retailers. Like the old structure of Indian Kirana stores.
Besides the classroom training module conducts the routes to the rural area where the availability of classroom training is non-existing. As a result, the program is a huge success as in 2018-19 almost 1631 retailers are trained out of those 602 are women. Even among the women entrepreneurs, this programs is a huge success who faces trouble in terms of knowledge and resources.
Water Replenishment projects (2018-19)
Water replenishment is storing and supply the water. Coca Cola corporate social responsibility has taken a step towards environmental sustainability through this project by their implementing partner- Indian Society of Agribusiness Professionals (ISAP) in Ludhiana and Amritsar.
As Punjab is an agricultural state it needs a constant supply of water. So, CCIPL planned to design a rainwater harvesting system for water replenishment. To accelerate the project they targeted the two villages- Jaspalon and Madiala Kalan in Ludhiana. The project is for deepening and desilting of 5 existing ponds, construction of inlet and outlet for these structures and construction of recharge pits over the next year to replenish 47,700 m3 of rainwater to benefit over 3,500 families.
Water replenishment project
It is again one of the environmental sustainability projects of Coca Cola corporate social responsibility. This project was developed at Pirangut, Pune, in consultation with local authorities, the community and other key stakeholders in the spirit of the golden triangle approach.
As the project focused on the conservation of surface water. The scope of the project is the installation of Water harvesting cum conservation structures at 6 sites, to replenish 186,000 m3 of rainwater, benefitting over 6000 families.
Providing Real-Time Information To Farmers
In rural areas of India farmer are not fully aware of the real-time information of their nearby mandis. So, Coca Cola corporate social responsibility with their implementation partners Lennon Agritech Pvt. Ltd. (Farm Guide) set up this program. As a result, this project was looked at in Jhabua, to 1000 farmers. It is one of the most backward districts in Madhya Pradesh, so there is a huge gap of knowledge between farmers and mandis.
So, the project started to provide better pricing opportunity for farmers to help them to make better decisions. Based on the results advisors have helped over 10,000 farmers.
Project Orange Unnati
Project Orange Unnati is another project for rural framer development by Coca Cola corporate social responsibility. The project objectives are focused on reducing the risk, increase production and farmers incomes.
This project is focused on the Vidarbha and Marathwada region of Maharashtra, which is a drought-prone area and also known as the orange capital of the country. Importantly this project covers 10,000 acres of new land under Ultra High- Density Plantation (UHDP) with high yielding Brazilian varieties leading to doubling farm productivity. Plus promoting and popularizing dip irrigation also focus on water saving.
Project Apple Unnati
Another project of rural and agricultural development in Coca Cola corporate social responsibility is to ensure the safety of the farmer community. Firstly the project is focused on Uttarakhand, to especially focus on the high productivity.
According to increase the productivity it focuses on the ultra-high-density plantation, which leads to a substantial increase in quantity and production and profitability. As result, it creates the self-sufficiency of apple production in India.
Most Importantly Indo Dutch Horticulture Technologies Private Limited are the implementation partners in the project.
Program for Action on Waste Management
Action on waste management is a great step towards environmental sustainability by Coca Cola corporate sustainability responsibility. According to the project, the description company formed a partnership with The Energy & Resource Institute (TERI) School of Advanced Studies.
To engage students from school and collages, the program is designed for the years which includes activities like:
- Understanding what makes the waste and why
- Waste reduction and recycling
- Appreciating what happens to waste after the doorsteps
- Mainstreaming the sanitation workers through structured interactions, and
- Building capacity in ragpickers/garbage collectors through the design of small business models/technology.
Alag Karo Har Din Teen Bin
An initiative in environment sustainability by Coca Cola corporate social responsibility which is focused on recycling and evencing on goods model in Gurugram. Saahas is the implementing partner in this project. As a result,t this project has
- 9000 households segregate their waste
- 500 waste pickers are equipped to handle segregated waste
- Constant working and awareness in 50 schools and commercial establishments regarding recycling.
- 1,50,000 volunteer with public awareness.
Waste Management Project In Pirangut
It is again one of the environmental sustainability project in Coca Cola corporate social responsibility. With their implementing partners Vanrai. This project description focuses on creating awareness about waste management. Secondly, it creates awareness of the segregation of solid, wet waste in the area of Pirangut, Pune. Lastly it sanitaze the people who are handling the waste and creating awareness of recycling.
As result segregation and processing of close to 7 tons per month including 30% wet and 70% dry waste. This will directly benefit about 25,000 residents in Pirangut, Pune.
